Carroll County Chamber of Commerce | Centennial Celebration

100 YEARS IN THE MAKING

A century of business. One night to celebrate it.

When the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce prepared to celebrate its 100th anniversary, the organization wanted more than a milestone event. It wanted an evening worthy of a century of business, leadership, and community in Carroll County. Hosted at Antrim 1844, the celebration brought together Chamber members, business leaders, and community stakeholders for an Old Hollywood-inspired evening designed around the idea of “100 Years in the Making.” Cover Paige Creative turned that idea into an experience, leading the creative direction, experiential event design, production planning, and onsite execution needed to bring the Chamber’s centennial vision to life.

THE CHALLENGE

The Chamber already had the ingredients for an important celebration: an historic venue, an engaged board and volunteer committee, major community sponsors, local partners, entertainment, and a clear desire to create something special. What it needed was someone to connect the pieces and bring the vision to life. The celebration would stretch across several areas of Antrim 1844, including the mansion, ballroom, pavilion, gardens, and a large tented dining environment. Guests needed to move naturally from a VIP reception and cocktails into dinner, a live auction, programming, music, and dancing.

At the same time, sponsors needed visibility, vendors needed direction, volunteers needed preparation, and multiple committees and partners needed to function as one event team. CPC's original engagement included creative strategy, spatial ideation, décor sourcing, vendor facilitation, styling, and on-site management. As planning progressed, however, the role expanded far beyond the original assignment. CPC became a creative and production partner across the experience.

A milestone this big had to feel like one.

FROM 1924 TO ONE UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT

The Chamber had its theme: Old Hollywood Glamour.

CPC gave it a visual language. We developed an event aesthetic rooted in the glamour of Hollywood's golden age, using black, gold, red, and white as the foundation and extending the concept through red carpet moments, velvet ropes, theatrical lighting, florals, tablescapes, signage, stage design, and vintage-inspired details. But the goal wasn't to fill the venue with themed objects. It was to create a world that felt cohesive from the moment guests arrived. CPC developed a mood board and evolving creative playbook that translated inspiration into tangible decisions for florals, linens, tabletop details, staging, signage, welcome areas and other elements throughout the footprint

“She was able to brainstorm with us to achieve the look and mood of the event and then bring it to life!”

THE DETAILS DID THE STORYTELLING

Where function, flow, and storytelling came together.

Before styling the space, CPC helped make it work, using site visits, planning meetings, and floor plan iterations to determine how dining, entertainment, bars, staging, sponsor experiences, and service would coexist across Antrim’s indoor and outdoor spaces. Working with the Chamber, venue and production partners, we helped shape the final 40' × 100' tented environment with 30 tables, stage and screens, multiple bars and service access.

Then we brought the Old Hollywood story to life. CPC conceived the tablescapes with gold linens, rich red florals, film clappers, vintage microphones, award statues, and candlelight, working with Flowers by Wendy Carol to develop the floral direction. We carried that vision to the stage with branded graphics, lighting, red carpet, velvet ropes, columns, and dramatic feather arrangements, creating a cohesive experience from floor plan to final detail.

THE RED CARPET STARTED AT ARRIVAL

Designing an experience guests could step into, not just look at.

The Old Hollywood experience began before guests entered the celebration. CPC created a red carpet arrival complete with velvet ropes, photo moments and period-inspired guest ambassadors, hand-selecting and preparing Miss Carroll County titleholders to help welcome guests and bring the theme to life from the first interaction.

But the experience was designed to do more than create a beautiful room. CPC helped shape the guest journey, program flow, silent auction experience, signature drinks, entertainment and interactive moments, while training staff and volunteers to understand their roles in delivering the evening. The result was a celebration guests didn’t simply attend. They became part of it.

BEHIND THE GLAMOUR

The guest experience looked effortless because the production wasn’t.

CPC worked across the many moving pieces required to bring the celebration together, coordinating with the Chamber, Antrim 1844, tent and production vendors, creative partners, staff, and volunteers. Our role extended from creative direction and design into floor plans, vendor coordination, seating, program development, run of show, silent auction sourcing and staging, staff and volunteer training, setup, on-site execution, and cleanup.

It meant thinking about what guests would see while simultaneously managing everything they wouldn’t: timing, transitions, responsibilities, placement, communication, and the countless details that allow a complex event to feel seamless.

What began as an anniversary celebration became an immersive tribute to 100 years of business and community in Carroll County. For CPC, the work wasn’t about applying an Old Hollywood theme to a room. It was about translating a century-long story into an experience: developing the creative vision, designing how guests would move through it, coordinating the people and partners behind it, and staying through execution to make sure the vision became reality.

From the first mood board to the final guest departure, CPC helped bring 100 years in the making to life.
